Calling all Newton-Herndon relatives & descendants!
Members of the The Giles (& Elizabeth “Betty” Terrell) Newton Sr. (d. 1807 SC) Family knew of the Ann Newton-Benjamin Herndon marriage but knew absolutely nothing about the identities & whereabouts of their descendants or anything connected with that “missing” branch of the family till Dad & I made a genealogical trip back there in 2014. I’ve been asked to gather cousin data so interested descendants can be invited to the annual reunion (the longest running reunion in S.C.) The last one, Sunday, August 2, 2015 was the 89th. Next August will be the 90th Annual Newton Family Reunion, traditionally held at the Boykin United Methodist Church. LOCATION: Boykin Methodist Church is located on Hwy 79, 1.5 miles west of Gibson, NC. (Near the SC border!) CONTACTS: (for info) e-mail rynewton77@gmail.com or call 803-429-6835; (for memorials of family deceased within the year) send info to Anita Stanton by e-mail at astanton3@nc.rr.com.
